"new" integra seats went in today. As I have extra front seats I took my time dying the replacement integra seats. They were already a far darker grey, but I wanted them to match my rears, so the plan was to dye all the seats the say. I tore apart the car Friday night so the rears could be dyed and have time to dry before a frantic Sunday night rebuild.

Front's are '96 (I think) Integra LS, the rear base is '00 Civic SI, and the rear uppers are some unknown Integra, but not a match for the fronts. Now all of them are the same shade of dark grey, almost black.

A little comparison of the old '96 Civic CX seats against the new dyed seats.

and what happens when you are making haste in the garage? dropped a chair and the runner dragged down my arm

Kinja'd!!!

it wasn't all garage play, we did hit up The Melting Pot as kids eat free for Easter, of COURSE my stylin' daughter coordinated with her fondue forks.

Kinja'd!!!

your turn, what'd you get up to in the garage, or out of, this Easter weekend?

Spent a few hours doing the mower's bi-annual refresh. Blades, plug, filter oil, carb clean, digging out all the gunk that gets up into inaccessible places, etc.

nope, either bulbs I had on hand (euro twist ins I robbed from an old 850 cluster I had) or spade type I had around. Fingers crossed, the wiring all looks to be in stellar shape

should be satisfying when you mow and the grass cuts instead of tearing out in chunks. Really gotta sharpen my blades :P

I kept a full wiring harness from a car I ripped apart, so many helpful handy parts I've stripped from it, always pleased when the part I need is in my pile of junk

I finally had to get new blades this round...the old ones had been on for 7 years and had reached the end of their resharpenability.

I learned how to change my brake pads with some youtube help on saturday, It was time to change them and I thought I could save some money by doing it myself if it wasn't that hard. I only did the front ones, rears are drums and after a pair of youtube videos I understood there's no way I'm putting those pieces back in the right order if I take them out...

I spent some time in the garage on Friday night with my grinder and a wire wheel on the rear frame until I knocked over a beer and it shattered on the floor.

I'm envisioning you just sighing loudly, dropping the grinder where is was, and just walking off leaving the broken bottle and beer slowly leaking away.

always good to have a go!

On drums, I was similarly terrified before doing my first set, but got some good advice about doing only one side at a time, that way you have a good reference on the other side about where all the parts go. and it went well.

That's pretty accurate except I clean up the glass and beer.

Girlfriend's cobalt threw a CEL for the rear 02 on saturday, cleared it and it came back so I grabbed one and changed it sunday morning. Hardest part was getting to the clip for the electrical attachement.

Washed both of ours before the Cars & Coffee Saturday morning, my first with the Camaro. Also pulled a fuse yesterday to leave the exhaust permanently in loud mode ;)

Yea, naturally someone already sells such a switch but I'm fine with keeping the butterflies open all the time.

That looks just deep enough to be really annoying.

I did the front brakes in my wife's Corolla this weekend. It would have been a lot shorter if I realized ahead of time that the caliper bolts are reverse threaded. Can't tell you how long my dumb ass was struggling to try and budge the bolts. Once I got them off, it was quick. Didn't even need to bleed the brakes.

I have yet to do a set of drums myself, but I've learned enough from doing other stuff over the years that a picture is worth its weight in gold when putting something back together. Just take out your smart phone and snap one before you disassemble. And, lay the springs out somewhere roughly in the way you took them off the car (IE: strings on top go up top of your pile, and likewise).

yeah, it'd developed into quite a nice bruise today

reverse threaded? that's frustrating. specifically since caliper bolts are often on the back side of the caliper so you are chanting righty tighty lefty loosey to yourself already
